Summer is here, and it’s time to make the most of it! If you are on a budget, you may be searching for cost-effective bucket list activities to cross off your list this June. You may be thinking most bucket list items are costly, but there are plenty of fun activities you can add to your list. Here are some of my top picks:
Go on a picnic
Pack a basket of your favorite snacks and head to a local park for a picnic. Bring a blanket, sunscreen, and a good book, and enjoy a lazy afternoon in the sun. If you’re feeling generous, you can invite some friends and make it a group outing.
Try a new recipe
Summer is the perfect time to try new things in the kitchen. So pick a new recipe you’ve wanted to try and spend an afternoon cooking up a storm.
Go for a hike
Get out of the city and explore some nearby trails. Hiking is a great way to stay active and enjoy the beauty of nature. Plus, it’s free! Just be sure to pack plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.
Have a movie night
Invite friends (or your boo) over for a movie night and make popcorn. Pick a theme, like 90s teen movies or classic rom-coms, and enjoy a night in. You can even make it recurring and rotate who gets to choose the movie!
Visit a Farmer’s Market
Support local farmers and artisans by visiting a farmer’s market. Pick up some fresh produce, grab a coffee, and enjoy the bustling atmosphere. I’ll bet you’ll discover new yummy foods and cool crafts to buy.
Take a yoga class
Yoga is a great way to stay fit and destress. Many studios offer discounted classes for first-timers, so it’s a great way to try something new without breaking the bank. Plus, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and energized.
Go to a free concert
Many cities offer free outdoor concerts during the summer months. Check your local listings and find a band or genre you love. Pack a blanket and light bites, and enjoy the music under the stars.
Volunteer for a cause you care about
Does your job provide volunteer days? Let’s use them! Why not volunteer for a cause you care about? Whether working at a soup kitchen or cleaning up a local park, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference. Plus, volunteering is a great way to meet new people and make connections.
Host a game night
Gather with your loved ones and have a game night. Pull out your favorite board games or try some new ones. Keep it stress-free by making it a potluck and have everyone bring a shareable dish.
Visit a nearby beach
My favorite summer activity! If you’re lucky to live near a beach, take advantage of it! Spend a day lounging in the sun, swimming in the ocean, and building sandcastles (if that’s your thing.) Remember to pack plenty of sunscreen and water.
As you can see, there are plenty of cheap bucket list items to do this June. Whether you’re looking for outdoor activities, indoor fun, or ways to give back, there’s something for everyone. So make your list and enjoy all that summer has to offer! Tell me! what’s on your list to accomplish this June?
